Dr. Ladan Suleiman, State Coordinator of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, announced a new support program benefiting 150 farmers from 30 clusters in the state.
The initiative aims to counteract the impact of fuel subsidy removal and support national food security goals.
Farmers will receive packages including NPK and urea fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and 10 kg of improved rice seeds. This aid is strategically targeted at the most vulnerable to ensure effective support.
The program, part of a national strategy to strengthen local agriculture, has been positively received.

Alhaji Shehu Galadima, Chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) in the state, expressed gratitude for the federal government’s assistance and urged beneficiaries to improve rice production with the new inputs.
Helen Shaba, State Coordinator of the Nigerian Women in Agriculture, highlighted the crucial role of women in achieving food security and encouraged female farmers to leverage the provided resources effectively.
She commended the government’s ongoing support for women in agriculture.
