FG applauds Olam Agri’s rice investment, CSR

The Federal Government has commended Olam Agri in Nigeria for its substantial investment in boosting agricultural output and growth across the country. Senator Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, praised the company during his inspection of their integrated Rice Farm and mill in Nasarawa state on March 28, 2024.

This visit followed a recent meeting between Olam Agri’s top management and government officials, where the company expressed interest in expanding its partnership with the Federal Government to further enhance agricultural productivity.

Accompanied by Nasarawa State Deputy Governor Dr Emmanuel Akabe and a team of experts, Senator Abubakar Kyari flagged off Olam Agri’s dry season rice harvest during his tour of the Olam Agri Rice Farm. He commended the company’s innovative approach to raising agricultural productivity, highlighting their mechanization and technology-driven farming methods.

Moreover, the Minister lauded Olam Agri’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, citing their engagement with over 35,000 out-growers and various community development initiatives, including flood response efforts and infrastructure projects.

Anil Nair, Country Head & Managing Director of Olam Agri in Nigeria, expressed gratitude for the Minister’s visit and reaffirmed the company’s support for the government’s agricultural agenda, emphasizing their dedication to sustainable growth and partnership with critical stakeholders.
