Nigerian farmers from the Nasarawa Federal Constituency have expressed their appreciation for the comprehensive agricultural business training they received.
During the second day of the empowerment and training program, which was organized by Rep. Jeremiah Umaru (APC), the constituency’s representative at the national assembly in the state’s Akwanga Local Government Area, the farmers from the Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal constituency opened their minds.
Participant Haruna Ayaka from Nassarawa-Eggon LGA stated that the member should be commended since the value of developing human capital cannot be overstated.
In order to prevent waste of the economic opportunities that arise in the agricultural sector, he continued, they had profited greatly from the training in the field of post-harvest storage.

Furthermore, according to Dahiru Mohammed from Wamba LGA, the facilitator’s presentation of the business planning had truly opened their eyes.
He said, “We were told that a farmer would get twice the yields that someone without the proper knowledge and planning can get with proper planning and knowledge.”
According to Hawa Idris from Akwanga LGA, they were also urged to establish cooperative organizations so they could get loans and other resources to expand their businesses.
Additionally, Aisha Bashir from Wamba expressed their pride in the member’s work thus far, saying that he had demonstrated that the voters in the area had not made a mistake in selecting him.
“We now know that farming is a lucrative business with many opportunities to be explored, rather than being for poor people as being implied,” she continued.
Mr. Tashi Dave, the program facilitator, stated that the agriculture industry is a profitable one that has the power to improve people’s lives and revolutionize the nation’s economy.
He clarified that in order for a business owner to be successful, they must properly plan their business and identify the kinds of goods or services they would offer in response to the needs of the local population.

A marketing plan, financial plan, time spent on market research, identification of the market and market strategies, readiness for certain obstacles, and future planning are just a few of the things that intending agricultural business owners should have.
“There is a chance to have a successful and sustainable business if all the above steps are taken into consideration before starting a business,” he continued.
The facilitator also urged the farmers to run their operations with a clear plan and structure so they could receive assistance and soft loans to grow their companies.
In cooperation with the Federal College of Agriculture, Produce Technology, Kano, Kano State, a training and empowerment program for farmers was organized.
The 35 electoral wards throughout the three Local Government Areas (LGAs) that comprised the constituency were used to choose the participants.
Speaking as well, participant Alex Emmanuel-Umbugu, the chairman of the Labour Party for Nasarawa State, praised the member for encouraging everyone regardless of political party affiliation.
In order to assist the member and give him greater insight and fortitude to carry out his assignment, he prayed to God.
Each participant would receive a pumping machine, three bags of fertiliser, a knapsack sprayer, and other farming inputs at the conclusion of the training on Saturday, according to the legislator, who was represented by Bala Moses-John, his Special Adviser on Projects.
