The Ekiti State Government is set to introduce the second cohort of its Broiler Production Scheme (EBOPS) for youths. This initiative aims to foster self-reliance and drive economic growth.
Mr. Ebenezer Boluwade, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, highlighted the success of the first cohort, where participants formed cooperative societies and achieved significant profits.
This success has fueled the expansion plans for the second cohort, which aims to broaden the program’s reach and impact.

EBOPS offers thorough training in broiler production, focusing on best practices in poultry farming, business management, and marketing strategies. Participants will gain hands-on experience and receive mentorship from industry experts.
This program is a component of the state’s involvement in the World Bank-supported Livestock Productivity and Resilience Scheme (LPRES), which finances vital infrastructure and resources for livestock production.
This collaboration is expected to enhance agricultural output, boost economic growth, create youth employment, support sustainable MSMEs, and improve food security.
