The Ekiti State Executive Council has approved N4.15 billion for various development projects, including road rehabilitation, the renovation of the House of Assembly complex, agricultural initiatives, and the construction of hostels. The Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, announced these approvals on Tuesday in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
The council allocated N2.71 billion to China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation for the rehabilitation of the De-Head to Faglo, Basiri Junction Road in Ado Ekiti. Olatunbosun highlighted that the project aims to ease traffic congestion between Adebayo and Ekiti State University, enhancing local socio-economic activities and security. The project is expected to be completed within 12 months.
Additionally, N701 million was approved for the comprehensive renovation of the State House of Assembly Complex and the House of Assembly Service Commission building. This contract, awarded to ClemCharles Nigeria Limited, will modernize the legislative and administrative facilities and is set for completion in 12 weeks.

To boost agriculture, the council approved N229 million to procure tractors and other farm machinery, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to enhancing agricultural productivity. Furthermore, N177.9 million was allocated to clear 325 hectares of land to support the ‘Youths In Agriculture’ initiative.
Lastly, N329.4 million was approved for constructing a 100-bed hostel at Command Secondary School, Isan Ekiti, to facilitate the school’s full boarding program.
