Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has given the green light for the establishment of the Esan Enterprise Park, a 400-hectare industrial layout designed to enhance the state’s industrial capabilities.

This development was revealed by Kelvin Uwaibi, Managing Director of the Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO), who noted that the new park is part of a broader strategy to create industrial parks and business clusters throughout Edo State. Currently, the state boasts two active industrial parks, with expansion plans in place to cater to growing investor interest in the Edo Central and Edo North regions.

In addition to the enterprise park, Uwaibi mentioned ongoing efforts to establish a mechanic village in Auchi, a move that reflects the proactive stance of local council officials in attracting investments. He highlighted a significant achievement in this area—the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) two years ago with a development partner, which has resulted in a €3 million investment in Edo’s agricultural sector.

The state is now actively seeking investment proposals and inviting profiles of capable individuals from the private sector to join an advisory board for the new park. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their profiles to the state government.

This initiative is a strategic effort to tap into the expertise and resources of both Edo natives and allies, ensuring the success of the Esan Enterprise Park. Governor Obaseki’s vision for the park marks a significant step forward in the industrial development of Edo State.
