Ebonyi State’s First Lady, Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, has recently launched a significant empowerment initiative aimed at boosting income sources for women and youths in the state.
During the 2024 Ebonyi Women August Meeting at the Christian Ecumenical Centre in Abakaliki, she facilitated skill development for approximately 195 individuals.

The program focused on diverse areas including Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and fashion design.
Out of the total beneficiaries, 65 received ICT training and equipment such as laptops, while 130 were trained in fashion design, hairdressing, and other vocational skills.
Nwifuru emphasized that economic empowerment for women is crucial for sustainable development. Access to education and vocational training not only improves their quality of life but also stimulates local economies.

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru praised the initiative and encouraged women to fulfill their roles as family custodians, contributing to a healthier, more peaceful society. Beneficiary Nwogha Ogonna expressed gratitude, vowing to leverage the opportunity for community betterment.
