In a strategic push to enhance food security and foster youth development, the Ebonyi State Government has trained 200 youths in agribusiness.
The graduates, including 171 ward councilors and 29 other participants, completed the 2024 Innovative and Integrated Agricultural Value Chains Agribusiness training, gaining expertise in poultry, fishery, rice production, and other agricultural sectors.
Governor Francis Nwifuru, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, urged the graduates to embrace large-scale farming as a means of economic empowerment.

“Put aside the title of Councillor and take up farming to supplement your income,” the governor advised. “Being a university graduate does not exempt you from farming. This opportunity allows you to move from growth and progress toward lasting success.”
The governor highlighted that the training equips participants with essential skills to establish their own businesses, and he assured them of ongoing state support and monitoring to help them effectively apply their new knowledge.
This initiative reflects Ebonyi State’s commitment to harnessing agriculture as a pathway to sustainable development and youth empowerment.
