DG SMEDAN Unveils Development Blueprint Plans for MSMEs in Nigeria
A plan to accelerate the growth of MSMEs in Nigeria has been proposed by Mr. Charles Odii, Director General and CEO of SMEDAN.
The plan calls for significantly boosting MSMEs’ manufacturing output, which is currently between 10% and 15% of total output. (2020, PWC).
Speaking to staff members, the DG of SMEDAN emphasized the importance of everyone participating in the change management efforts now underway inside the Agency.
In accordance with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, he says, my team and I at SMEDAN intend to build a route for 40 million MSMEs to obtain all the ecosystem support necessary to hasten their company expansion.

1. Our goals are to generate 500 million USD in export revenue, 1 million new employment, and 5 million new jobs overall.
2. We will reach out to 40 million MSMEs in Nigeria to learn more about their requirements, identity, and location. We will honor 300 firms for their excellence and present 30 businesses to the global audience.
3. We’re going to transform the fashion and apparel industries by encouraging global consumption.
4. By using digital platforms to reach thousands of participants instead of only 40–100 in our physical trainings, we will be concentrating on scalability in all of our trainings.
To propel the new vision, the DG committed to investing in human capital development and urged everyone to provide their best ideas so that they could work together to fulfill the goal.
