Dangote Cement Plc.’s management has distanced itself from widespread online rumors claiming the company has reduced the cost of cement per bag.
The company allegedly dropped the price of a bag of cement to between N2,400 and N2,700 as part of a sales promotion, according to the circulating reports on several media outlets and social media, Naija News has learned.
This is to let everyone know that Dangote Cement is being sold at a special factory price of N2,410 per bag. According to one of the aforementioned tweets, the cost of transportation and offloading to any area in Nigeria is N300 per bag.
Anthony Chiejina, the Chief Branding and Communications Officer of the Dangote Group, added to his prior statement by calling the stories naughty, malicious, and untrue.
Chiejina issued a warning that the management of Dangote Cement has formally notified law enforcement agencies to find, identify, and deal with the authors of the false information, which it referred to as cunning and deceptive.
