The Dangote Group has expressed readiness to partner with Niger State on the development of 17 oil blocks recently discovered in the Bida Basin, following a 2023 geological survey confirming hydrocarbon reserves that could sustain production for 70 years.
At the Dangote Special Day during the Niger National Trade Fair in Minna, Governor Umaru Bago represented by Hamza Bello Sarki called on the private sector to invest in the state’s energy potential, praising Dangote’s track record with large-scale projects like its world-class refinery.
Dangote Group’s representative, Hashem Ahmed, revealed ongoing investments in the state, including the Dangote Rice Mill in Wushishi and a guaranteed offtake plan for 1 million metric tons of paddy rice under the Niger Food Initiative.
