To ease the financial burden on Nigeria’s workforce due to increasing petrol prices, the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) has introduced a new consumer loan scheme aimed at providing relief to citizens.
As of the latest count, a total of 10,942 civil servants across various sectors have already benefited from the initiative, with more recipients being added daily.
According to CREDICORP’s fifth-day disbursement report, education workers and teachers lead the list of beneficiaries, numbering 4,786.

This is followed by 2,831 administrators, 1,307 healthcare professionals, 1,264 police and paramilitary officers, and 753 specialized workers.
The program, designed to offer accessible and affordable credit, collaborates with financial institutions to ensure economically active citizens can meet urgent financial needs effectively.
