The COMESA Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB) Malawi Chapter has successfully empowered over 450 women entrepreneurs across the country through targeted training programs focused on business improvement, trade, and capacity strengthening.
These initiatives aim to provide women with the tools and knowledge to excel in various business sectors, including product development and market expansion. Raymond Kapalamula, the Chapter’s National Coordinator, shared these achievements during an advocacy review meeting held in Lilongwe.
The COMFWB Malawi Chapter’s advocacy program has reached women entrepreneurs in major urban and rural areas, including Lilongwe, Blantyre, Mzuzu, Dedza, and Karonga.
These regions have benefited from training that covers a broad range of business improvement areas, including trade best practices, product innovation, and capacity-building strategies.
By providing women with these resources, COMFWB aims to empower them to scale their businesses, increase their competitiveness, and contribute to national economic growth.
A key partner in this initiative is the Graça Machel Trust, the main implementer of the Women Creating Wealth Programme.
The Trust’s collaboration with COMFWB has focused on providing critical training and mentorship for women entrepreneurs, particularly those in underserved areas.
