The Federal Government has flagged off Section 3B of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway in Akwa Ibom State a major move expected to unlock new growth opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the South-South region.
In a statement signed by Mohammed A. Ahmed, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Ministry of Works, the project is described as a strategic boost to Nigeria’s road infrastructure.
It promises to improve transportation, expand regional trade routes, and ease access to markets for business owners and entrepreneurs.

With support from the Akwa Ibom State Government and other key stakeholders, the project is scheduled for timely completion, potentially transforming business activity in coastal communities and beyond.
For SMEs involved in trade, logistics, agriculture, and tourism, the new road network is expected to reduce transport costs, improve product delivery timelines, and attract more investment to the region.
This development aligns with the government’s broader economic agenda to promote inclusive growth and create a more enabling environment for small businesses to thrive.
