The Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI) has pledged to address persistent supply challenges to help Nigerians benefit from affordable fuel alternatives.
Amid rising complaints about high transport fares despite wider use of CNG-powered vehicles, PCNGI Coordinator, Engr. Michael Oluwagbemi, said enforcement of cheaper fares hinges on stable gas supply.
He noted that while adoption and awareness have improved, accessibility is the next phase.

Oluwagbemi revealed that in partnership with the Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria (GACN), the Domestic Gas Market Framework set to launch in two weeks will ensure gas is delivered at subsidized rates.
Until supply is stable nationwide, PCNGI says it will rely on “passive enforcement” and “moral suasion” to encourage fair transport pricing.
