CBN unveils agricultural loan for Nigerian youth

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has launched the 2024 Agricultural Loan, targeting Nigerian youth aged 18-35 to boost agriculture and its value chains.

The loan features a moratorium of up to 18 months for the principal and 6 months for markup, with flexible terms based on project gestation periods.

Eligibility Requirements:

Bank Verification Number (BVN).

Certificate of training from a recognized Entrepreneurship Development Institution (EDI) or membership proof in a private-sector association.

Business registration documents compliant with the Companies and Allied Matters Act (1990).

Letter of introduction from a reputable figure (e.g., Clergy, Village Head, or senior civil servant).


This initiative fosters partnerships between state governments, stakeholders, and the CBN to enhance sustainable agricultural development.
