The Annual General Meeting/Election of the Executive Members of the Borno Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BOCCIMA) held in Maiduguri on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, saw the National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) express their optimism.
First Deputy President of NACCIMA Jani Ibrahim spoke on behalf of the association’s President Dele Oye. He praised the better state of affairs in Borno and the constructive change under Governor Babagana Zulum’s direction.
Ibrahim emphasized the necessity for stakeholders to highlight the gradual return of peace and the noteworthy achievements of the Zulum administration as well as the reality of Borno’s altered environment to the world.
“Borno is ready for business; there is tremendous potential for investment here,” Ibrahim stated. He also disclosed plans for his business to invest billions of naira in Borno before the year is through.

Alhaji Umar Kadafur, the deputy of Governor Babagana Zulum, urged investors to work with the state government to take advantage of the expanding business prospects.
The governor emphasized that displaced people had successfully returned to their homes, and that businesses were once again thriving. He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to promoting industrial growth and assisting small and medium-sized businesses, particularly in light of Borno State’s advantageous location near the border of Niger, Chad, and Cameroon.
At the approaching North East Domestic Trade Fair in Bauchi, Governor Zulum announced that Borno would display its economic potentials in order to promote the state’s business opportunities to a larger audience.
During the meeting, Alhaji Ahmed Ashemi, the BOCCIMA President, and Alhaji Abdu Usman, the organization’s Director General, were elected to new terms. Both leaders commended the Zulum administration for its unwavering commitment to improving the state’s economic climate and changing the state. They expressed thanks and requested sustained assistance from the government in order to accelerate Borno’s economic development.
