With immediate effect the Borno State Ministry of Information and Internal Security has declared a ban on hawking, unlawful selling, and loitering near the refurbished Maiduguri Monday Market.
In a statement given to newsmen in Maidugiri, the State’s Commissioner of Information and Internet Security, Professor Mohammed Tar, made this announcement.
“This is to alert members of the public that the Borno State Government has made efforts to ensure a smooth take-off of the reconstructed Monday Market following the sad fire incident at the Maiduguri Monday Market, and its eventual rehabilitation.

Therefore, the government has prohibited all hawkers, unlawful stalls, the exhibition of merchandise, and all other forms of business around the Monday Market’s exterior perimeters, the statement read.
The following access sites are also included: Gidan Madara, Ahmadu Bello Way, Post Office Roundabout, Tobbaco Road, Kofa Biyu, and Rabiu Zangina, it was added. a single approach.
