The Benue State Government has announced plans to kickstart large-scale juice and beer production by August 2025, using crops grown by local farmers.
Raymond Asemakaha, MD/CEO of Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC), revealed the initiative during a project inspection tour.
Asemakaha said the move is part of the state’s agro-industrialisation drive aimed at reviving dormant factories, boosting the economy, and creating jobs.

A state-owned juice factory inactive since 2015 will resume production within 90 days, while a beer plant already 90% complete will rely on cassava and rice cultivated across the state.
“We are tired of people buying our oranges. We have the best in the world,” he noted, adding that farmers will be supported with seedlings and assured product off-take under a backward integration plan.
The upcoming brewery is expected to generate hundreds of direct jobs and support thousands of local farmers, aligning with Governor Hyacinth Alia’s economic vision for the state.
