Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, announced a comprehensive overhaul of veterinary clinics and abattoirs across the state, aimed at enhancing food production and security while bolstering economic value.
Speaking at the inauguration of the steering committee for the Bauchi State Committee on the World Bank-assisted project, Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support project (L-PRES), Governor Bala Mohammed emphasized the pivotal role of this initiative in elevating livestock productivity, fostering income generation, and combating poverty.
Highlighting the strategic significance of modernizing these facilities to attract investment and international partnerships, the governor affirmed the acquisition of land for a state-of-the-art Veterinary Clinic at Ran road, a pivotal step towards realizing the project’s objectives.
Governor Bala Mohammed underscored the alignment of this endeavor with the state’s agricultural framework, urging committee members to uphold the trust placed in them.

Expressing gratitude to the World Bank and the Federal Government for selecting Bauchi State as a beneficiary, the governor pledged unwavering support to ensure the seamless execution of the projects.
Prof. Simon Madugu Yalams, Chairman of the Committee and Bauchi State’s Commissioner of Agriculture, lauded Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s visionary leadership and commitment to agricultural transformation, emphasizing the transition from subsistence farming to a lucrative enterprise.
The committee, comprising key figures from the state and federal ministries, including the Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, Aminu Hammayo, and the Governor’s Principal Private Secretary, Pharmacist Samaila Adamu Burga, is poised to drive the ambitious agenda towards fruition.
