Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head, Legal and Compliance to provide strategic legal guidance, safeguard the organization’s interests, and ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will oversee all legal functions, manage corporate governance matters, and serve as a trusted advisor to senior management and the Board, and also act as the company secretary.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice to management on corporate, commercial, and regulatory issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, and have strong expertise in drafting Public-Private Partnership contracts and documents.
- Ensure the organization’s compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee dispute resolution, litigation, and liaison with external counsel where necessary.
- Lead corporate governance initiatives and advise the Board on legal and compliance matters.
- Anticipate and mitigate potential legal risks affecting the organization.
- Manage and mentor the in-house legal team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); Master’s degree or professional certification (LLM, ICSA) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years’ progressive legal experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, labor, and regulatory laws.
- Proven experience in managing corporate governance and compliance.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA)
