Researchers and conservationists can now apply for grants of up to $5,000 to support urgent projects focused on protecting endangered tortoise and freshwater turtle species across the globe.
The grant prioritizes initiatives targeting species listed as Critically Endangered or Endangered on the IUCN Red List or the TFTSG Provisional Red List, including those believed to be highly threatened but not yet officially classified. Projects involving marine turtles are not eligible for this funding.

Grants are available to individuals or organizations working on specific conservation or research efforts. The fund covers direct project expenses only, excluding any indirect or administrative overhead costs.
Funding details:
- Up to $5,000 per project
- Smaller grants of $3,000 or less encouraged for pilot or early-stage initiatives
- Two funding cycles annually
- Total annual disbursement: $40,000 to $100,000
