The Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy has launched the first phase of the Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF), aimed at strengthening various creative sectors and positioning Nigeria as a global hub for innovation in arts and culture.
Applications for this initial phase—targeting larger funding requests of $100,000 and above—will close on May 30, 2025. A second round, specifically for SMEs and MSMEs seeking smaller funding, will begin on August 4, 2025.
Eligible applicants include writers, publishers, artists, filmmakers, fashion designers, gaming studios, tourism operators, and service providers in media, logistics, law, and training.

CEDF 2025 is designed to promote sustainable growth, create jobs—especially for young people—and facilitate access to capital in the creative economy. The fund also supports using intellectual property as collateral, giving creative entrepreneurs more leverage in securing future funding.
