NBA Africa has announced five standout startups as winners of the second edition of its Triple-Double Accelerator, an initiative boosting Africa’s growing tech and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Selected from more than 700 applicants across 32 countries, Reborn (Morocco), Fitclan (Egypt), Athlon Technology (Egypt), Atsur (Nigeria), and Songdis (Nigeria) emerged top, securing financial backing and entry into Carnegie Mellon University Africa’s prestigious 12-month Business Incubation Program — a package valued at up to $70,000.
Reborn, which clinched first place, received $25,000 and additional API credits alongside access to OpenAI’s engineering team. Fitclan and Athlon Technology followed closely, securing cash prizes of $15,000 and $5,000 respectively, while Nigeria’s Atsur and Songdis each earned $2,500 to scale their creative and digital solutions.

The finalists pitched their innovations at Demo Day in Kigali, Rwanda, before a panel featuring CMU-Africa Director Dr. Conrad Tucker and OpenAI Africa Lead Emmanuel Lubanzadio. Partners including ServiceNow and ALX Ventures reinforced the program’s mission to equip early-stage entrepreneurs with global-level mentorship and technical support.
NBA Africa CEO Clare Akamanzi praised the ingenuity of this year’s cohort, noting that their solutions will help shape the future of sports, entertainment, and creative industries across the continent.
