Africa is reinforcing its position in the global digital economy through youth-driven innovation and entrepreneurship, with emphasis on blockchain technology and financial inclusion.
Speaking at a recent tech gathering in Abuja, the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, called for a shift from technology consumption to creation, urging young Africans to become innovators and owners in the digital space.

Inuwa highlighted the need to balance innovation with regulation to sustain growth and trust in emerging technologies. He commended local tech communities for building platforms that empower startups and small businesses to leverage blockchain for financial access, transparency, and scalability.
The dialogue reaffirmed Africa’s potential to move beyond being a marketplace for digital tools into a hub for ideas, innovation, and inclusive economic opportunity.
