Over the preceding five years, the Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) reported the establishment of 13,670 jobs and the financial support of 4,761 businesses, as unveiled by Mr. Chudi Ugwuada-Ezirigwe, the Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, he underscored that within this timeframe, the agency initiated the creation of 13,670 jobs, funding for 4,761 businesses, and the establishment of 3,868 enterprises.
Ugwuada-Ezirigwe further disclosed that, as part of their engagement and activities, the agency actively advocated entrepreneurship, fostering the growth of 9,557 ventures and augmenting 7,327 enterprises. Moreover, they dedicated efforts to enhancing the capacity of 1,962 entrepreneurs during this period.
He emphasized that the AEA operates as an intervention agency under the FCT Administration, mandated with the explicit goals of job creation, wealth generation, and poverty alleviation. Between 2018 and 2022, the agency devised diverse programs, services, and activities geared toward achieving this set mandate.

Collaborating with the United Kingdom Department for International Development, Ugwuada-Ezirigwe highlighted their commitment to instilling a corporate culture of performance within the administration.
He stated, “Our clientele consists of individuals capable of driving the economy, aligning with the global consensus that SMEs are pivotal economic drivers. Over the past five years, the agency has not only created jobs and funded businesses but also actively promoted entrepreneurship, demonstrating substantial growth in enterprises and contributing to the capacity-building of numerous entrepreneurs through outreach programs and services spanning rural areas across the Six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory.”
