Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has revealed that the Mubi livestock market in Adamawa State supplies 29 million animals to Lagos annually, generating N29 billion in revenue.
Speaking during a meeting with the Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Fintiri underscored the livestock sector’s pivotal role in the state’s economy.
He urged the federal government to eliminate challenges such as roadblocks and extortion faced by cattle traders.

The governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for establishing the Ministry of Livestock Development and appointing Maiha, describing the move as transformative for the sector.
Minister Maiha highlighted Adamawa’s animal resource richness and its 33 grazing reserves out of the nation’s 415.
He lauded the state’s development efforts, including the northern international cattle market in Mubi, and assured federal support to maximize the livestock industry’s potential for national growth.
