The Abia State Government has begun distributing interest-free loans to 302 youths who were trained in agricultural ventures. This initiative is part of the state’s efforts to enhance food production.
Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mr. Okey Kanu, made the announcement on Monday during a press briefing at the Government House, Umuahia. He revealed that the beneficiaries had undergone specialized agricultural training earlier this year at CSS Global Integrated Farms in Nassarawa.

According to Kanu, the disbursement process commenced after Governor Alex Otti approved the loan distribution in September. He emphasized that the funds will be released in stages, based on the progress of each beneficiary’s agricultural projects, ensuring the loans are properly utilized.
The initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to fostering agricultural growth and empowering youths in the state.
