Aba Power is set to generate over 350 direct jobs as it begins a mass rollout of prepaid meters this April, targeting nine LGAs in Abia State.
Partnering with key meter manufacturers like Kayz Consortium, Chint, and Eve Electric, the initiative aims to accelerate metering coverage and eliminate estimated billing.
Kayz Consortium will assemble 90,000 meters by December 2025 and has brought in eight Chinese expatriates to train a 130-man Nigerian team for the task. In April alone, the company will install 20,000 meters at its base in Osisioma Industrial Layout.

Two other firms, Chint Power and Eve Electric, will commence installations in May, deploying 34 professional installers each. Nigerian companies HAMPOC Utilities and M.E. Meters are also supporting the effort.
With over 350,000 customers to serve, Aba Power says its one-year goal is full metering coverage to promote transparency, improve service, and boost customer satisfaction.
