12,000 Bauchi farmers get free fertilizers, boost agro-business

A total of 1,200 farmers from the 13 wards of Dass Local Government Area in Bauchi State received fertilizers on Wednesday at the council’s secretariat.

The distribution was overseen by the council’s Chairman, Comrade Mohammed Abubakar Jibo, who praised both the state governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, and the federal government for their commitment to enhancing agricultural productivity.

Jibo highlighted the governor’s initiative of procuring tractors and other farm implements for farmers across the state. He emphasized that these efforts are vital for improving farming activities and ensuring food security in Bauchi State, complementing the federal government’s broader agricultural development agenda.

“We must commend His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for his relentless efforts in achieving food sufficiency and security in Bauchi State,” Jibo stated.

He also expressed gratitude to the federal government for providing fertilizers, stressing that this support will significantly aid local farmers in cultivating the land to feed their communities.

Jibo urged the beneficiaries to use the fertilizers wisely and not to sell them, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to promoting agriculture and ensuring food sufficiency in the region.
